Terminus Times #2
Hello, I am J.J. and as I am sitting here writing this it is about one month since the launch of No Bones About It. To say that I am overwhelmed by the response so far is an understatement. We have sold far, far more copies of this book in our first month than I expected and I just want to give a heartfelt thank you to everyone who is reading this. I have so much hope for the future of this series now and if you are interested enough in that future to read this, then you are a big part of that hope.
After this first month, I feel like B and I are standing on the edge of something that will one day be big. The best analogy I have is a snowball, we’ve formed the ball and now we are starting to push it. We don’t know how much snow is on the ground, we don’t know if we are coming up to a hill or if we are about to go down a one. I just have this feeling that if we keep pushing this snowball someday it will be huge.
A big part of keeping this snowball rolling is going to be communicating with our readers. Keeping you informed of where we are in the story and when we are getting you the next piece of it. To that end, I think most authors share what their expected timeline for the second book will be. I would, instead, like to share where B and I are in Charlie and Brutus’s story as a whole.
For added context to this, I would recommend reading the forward to No Bones About It. But in brief, The Moss & Wolf case files was not something B and I wrote planning for it to become a novel. The story of Charlie and Brutus was something we were writing for ourselves and we then decided to share it with the world. We thought other people would come to love these characters just as much as we do.
However, that means that we have a few Cases already finished. So here is the list of cases and their tentative titles, as well as their current status:
Case 1: No Bones About It [Complete]
Case 2: Ghosts of Rome [First Pass of Editing]
Case 3: Death in Winter [First Draft]
Case 4: Pack Matters [First Draft]
Case 5: Silence in The Library [First Draft]
Case 6: In The Woods [First Draft]
Case 7: A Magical Day [Rough Draft]
At present, our goal is going to be one new release every year. So you can expect Case number 2 to come out in January of 2022. We might even release it sooner depending on how smoothly editing goes. We are quite hopeful that the future will be easier than the first thanks to both our experience in having done it once already and because we grew better at writing as a team over time.
That is it for this month’s edition of the Terminus Times. Thank you so much for reading and if you want to help us continue to grow, and you haven’t already, please leave us a review on Amazon or Goodreads. But even if you can’t do that, thank you for reading regardless.
Thanks for being a member of the pack,
-J.J. White
